Joy Lynn Kundawala joined MRLP in October 2025 as a Senior Associate Attorney in the Southeast Litigation Department, where she focuses her practice in the state of Georgia. She brings with her more than 15 years of experience in the consumer finance and default servicing industries.
Joy began her legal career representing mortgage lenders and servicers, handling matters ranging from pre‑suit title curative actions to contested trials. She later transitioned to the default credit industry, where she spent over a decade representing consumer lenders in a wide variety of state court and appellate proceedings in Georgia and Florida. During this time, Joy served as managing attorney in her firm’s Florida office before relocating to Georgia.
Throughout her career, Joy has developed extensive knowledge of state and federal consumer protection statutes and their impact across all aspects of the default servicing industry. Her experience spans a broad range of matters, including foreclosure, eviction, arbitration, attorneys’ fees litigation, and appellate briefing, allowing her to provide strategic and practical representation to clients facing complex legal challenges.
Joy is known for her thorough research, strong advocacy, and ability to address novel and complex issues, while remaining committed to professionalism and compassion in every matter she handles.
