MRLP is proud and honored to be a recipient of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) 2024 Residential Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Leadership Award. The annual awards recognize MBA members for their leadership efforts in DEI. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who have embraced our DEI initiatives with enthusiasm and passion.
MRLP has long embraced a DEI mindset, recognizing the value of a diverse and inclusive workplace. To solidify this commitment and foster a more inclusive workplace culture, expand workforce diversity, and actively attract and retain diverse talent at all levels, we formalized a DEI program in January 2021. This program, complete with dedicated leadership and budget, was established to address the pressing need for an environment where every employee feels valued, respected, heard, and empowered with equal opportunities for success. We also committed to expand our DEI initiatives beyond our workforce and into the broader industry and community through strategic partnerships and corporate giving.
When asked about the award, Maria Tsagaris, Esq., MRLP’s Chief Diversity Officer stated “We are deeply honored to receive the MBA’s Residential Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Award. This recognition underscores our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, where all voices are valued, and everyone has an opportunity to thrive. We are proud of the progress we’ve made, but we recognize that there is always more work to be done. This award strengthens our commitment to continue to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work and culture. We thank the MBA for this distinction and look forward to furthering our efforts in creating a more inclusive environment for all.”
As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to building on our progress and expanding our DEI initiatives. We will continue to strive for a workplace, industry and community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, contribute and succeed.
To determine this year’s winners, submissions were reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of members of MBA’s DEI Advisory Committee, past DEI Leadership Award winners, and MBA staff. The companies, based on an overall number of employees, were scored by the quality of their overall submission, identification of a target audience and annual goals, demonstration of a tangible benefit to communities, clients, the overall enterprise, and the replicability of the program. Innovative program approaches and potential success in broadening the culture of the organization through the values of DEI were also considered.
