At MRLP, our unwavering commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) forms the core of our organizational ethos. We passionately believe in the power of a diverse workforce, not just in appearance, but in thought, experience, perspectives, and values. This commitment extends beyond our internal practices to active engagement in initiatives that reflect these principles.
Central to our DEI strategy are our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These groups, currently catering to African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, women, and the LGBTQ+ community, serve as vital support networks. They host enriching programs like webinars on health and wellness, virtual tours through significant cultural sites, legal discussions on rights and advocacy, and mindfulness experiences. These initiatives underscore our dedication to an inclusive workplace where every individual’s unique identity and experiences are valued and celebrated.
MRLP’s involvement in DEI extends beyond our workplace through participation in and contribution to several legal and financial organizations supporting DEI initiatives. These organizations include, but are not limited to: ALFN’s WILL and IDEA – American Legal and Financial Network Women in Legal Leadership and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Awareness, the Black Women Lawyers’ Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, MBA/mPower – Mortgage Bankers Association’s initiative Promoting Opportunities for Women to Extend their Reach, the South Asian Bar Associations of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York and the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals. MRLP also actively participates in the DEI Section of the USFN—America’s Mortgage Banking Attorneys—by writing articles and speaking on DEI-focused panels at conferences and webinars.
We are currently pursuing the prestigious Mansfield Certification highlighting our ongoing dedication to integrating DEI principles into every aspect of our firm’s operation. This certification process is a testament to our continuous efforts in ensuring leadership and management roles are accessible to diverse individuals, thus strengthening our commitment to DEI now and in the future.
